Conway is a census-designated place and an unincorporated area in Orange County, Florida, US. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. One of the first five paved highways built in Orange County was the brick Conway Road from Orlando to Conway, running along what is now Briercliff Drive, Curry Ford Road, and Conway Road, ending at Anderson Road, the center of Conway.
Conway is located approximately 4.2 miles west of Orlando, Florida. Approximately 8.9 km2 (3.5 mi2) of the community is land, and 0.4 km2 (0.2 mi2) (4.70%) is water. Conway shares borders with Lake Terrace, Dover Estates, Bryn Mawr, Pershing, Countryside, Southern Oaks and Pineloch.
State Road 15 (Conway Road) traverses through the middle of Conway and serves as main street and bisects the area east and west. Michigan Street borders the northwestern side and Lake Margaret Drive on its northeast. Hoffner Avenue bounds it to the south. Bumby Avenue and Little Lake Conway bounds it to the west. Other arterials serving the area include Lake Margaret Drive, Gatlin Avenue, and Simmons Road.
Conway Middle School and Conway Elementary School are the two public schools serving Conway. Other schools within the community are Shenandoah Elementary School (S Conway Road) and Lake George Elementary School (Gatlin Avenue).
Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (Anderson Road) and Conway United Methodist Church (S Conway Road), Conway First Baptist Church (S Conway Road), and Saint Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church (S Conway Road) are the few places of worship in the community.
It is home to Barber Park, overlooking Lake George. Several businesses in Conway include Publix Super Market at Conway Crossing, AutoZone Auto Parts, and Las Cazuelas -Tienda Mexicana & Restaurant.
