Lauderhill Broward

Lauderhill, officially the City of Lauderhill, is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The city of Lauderhill is located in north-central Broward County, 4.75 miles to the northwest of Fort Lauderdale. It covers an area of 8.6 square miles (22.2 km2), of which 8.5 square miles (22.1 km2) are land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2) are water.

 

Lauderhill borders the municipalities of Tamarac, on its north and northeast; Lauderdale Lakes, on its northeast; Fort Lauderdale, on its east; Plantation, on its south; and Sunrise on its southwest and south.

 

Many arterials pass through Lauderhill due to its geographic position. The thoroughfares include U.S. Route 441, State Road 838, Florida’s Turnpike, State Road 816, University Drive, Commercial Boulevard. NW 50th Street from the west turns to Inverrary Boulevard going east then becomes NW 56th Avenue heading south and ends at Sunrise Boulevard. State Road 870 bounds the city to the north and State Road 838 to the south. NW 44th Street serves as the main east-west road throughout the northern half of the city. State Road 816 bisects the city north and south.

 

Lauderhill is a mix of residential and commercial areas with many shopping areas and parks. Lauderhill Historical Museum is located in the heart of the city. Inverrary Country Club is located to the north half of the city near Ilene Lieberman Botanical Gardens along Inverrary Boulevard. Other parks within the city include Veterans Park, Lauderhill Sports Park, and Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium. Shopping areas include Lauderhill Mall, Grieco Chevrolet of Lauderhill, The Beauty Supply Warehouse, Swap Shop & Thunderbird Drive-In Theater, Bravo Supermarket, TATE’S Comics + Toys + More, Publix Super Market at Inverrary Falls, Ft. Lauderdale Plaza, and Oriental Market.

 

Broward County Public Schools operates public schools. Elementary schools in the Lauderhill city limits include Broward Estates, Castle Hill, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Montessori, Endeavour Primary Learning Center, Larkdale, Lauderhill Paul Turner, Royal Palm. Middle schools with attendance zones serving Lauderhill include Parkway Middle School, Lauderdale Lakes Middle School in Lauderdale Lakes, and Westpine Middle School in Sunrise. High schools with attendance zones serving Lauderhill include Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, and Piper High School in Sunrise. Anderson and Piper are two options available to residents of Lauderhill. People who live in the middle school boundary have priority for admission to Lauderhill 6–12’s high school program. Although Millennium’s high school has no boundaries, previous Millennium Middle students have priority. Rise Academy II and Rise Academy are charter schools.
