Camping World Stadium-Orlando

Camping World Stadium, formerly known as the Citrus Bowl, is a stadium located in Orlando, Florida. Over the years, the stadium has undergone numerous expansions and name changes since it opened in 1936 as a Works Progress Administration project for $115,000 and a capacity of 8,900. In 2014, a massive $207.7 million reconstruction produced 90% all-new construction and a completely modernized stadium. In 2015, the stadium underwent another major renovation that included new seats, suites, and a video board. With these upgrades, Camping World Stadium has been able to attract new high-profile events such as neutral-site college football games, NFL pre-season games, and big-name concerts while retaining its signature bowl games and events. It was ranked 12th by Stadium Journey as the 12th-best stadium in the world in 2017.

A trip to Camping World Stadium is a must if you enjoy watching sports. Many sporting events have taken place there since it opened, including football games, soccer matches, and even monster truck rallies. An interesting fact about the venue is that it was the only place where Van Halen and The Rolling Stones performed together during the “American Tour 1981”. The stadium was also chosen to host three matches of Group A during the 1996 Olympic Women’s Soccer Tournament. On the 2nd of August 1998, the MLS All-Star Game between the USA All-Stars and the World All-Stars was held at this stadium. The 2002 Survivor Series and 2007 No Way Out pay-per-view was also held here.

The stadium was built for football and in the past, it has served as the home of several alternate-league football teams. It is home to the Orlando City Soccer Club and the Camping World Bowl. The Camping World Bowl is a post-season college football bowl game that has been held annually since 2016. The stadium also serves as the current home of the Citrus Bowl, an annual NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) college football bowl game, and the Cure Bowl, another NCAA FBS post-season game.

The Orlando City Soccer Club also plays its games at Camping World Stadium, making it the only stadium in the United States to host men’s and women’s professional soccer games. It is also the regular host of other college football games including the Florida Classic between Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman, the MEAC/SWAC Challenge, and the Camping World Kickoff. Finally, it even hosted three WWE events including WrestleMania XXIV, Royal Rumble 2020, and Summer Slam 2015.
