Fort Lauderdale Beach Park’s Playground, located less than a mile south of Las Olas Boulevard, welcomes families who want to do more on the beach than just relax. All the amenities one could want are available at no cost to visitors of this beachside park. These include volleyball and basketball courts, outdoor showers, restrooms, a playground, and a picnic area with tables and grills. There are also less people on the park’s beach compared to nearby Fort Lauderdale Beach, and lifeguards are present during daylight hours every day.

Recent visitors had a positive experience at this park, praising its scenic location and excellent facilities. The convenience of being close to B Ocean Resort and the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa was also highly regarded by many visitors. There are some extra fees for some services, though, as several previous guests advised. You may hire a beach chair and an umbrella for $50, and parking will cost $6 to $8 per vehicle, depending on the day. Arriving early is recommended as parking might be difficult to find (particularly on weekends and holidays).

Between Las Olas Beach and the Harbour Isles of Fort Lauderdale is Fort Lauderdale Beach Park’s Playground, which occupies the whole eastern edge of the city. Take the bus to the park’s northern terminus. It’s recommended that weekend visitors who drive here pay the parking fee to avoid the hassle of finding free parking close by as this area of Fort Lauderdale, Florida gets busy.

In addition to DC Alexander Park, other adjacent attractions include Sebastian Street Beach and the International Swimming Hall of Fame Museum. You can go for a jog along the water’s edge, or you can play a game of basketball or volleyball on one of the courts. With slides installed in the climbing structures, the playgrounds are sure to be a hit with the kids. Dive into the refreshing water and cool off from your busy day. Don’t forget your mask and snorkel so you can see all the beautiful fish and other sea life right at your feet.

The hours of operation for Fort Lauderdale Beach Park’s Playground are from 5:00 am through 12:00 am daily. Though driving to the park is the most convenient option, guests without cars can use the No. 40 bus. Stop No. 5 for the water taxi is right across the street.
