Sugar Sand Park-Boca Raton

There are plenty of child-friendly attractions in Florida, but sometimes you don’t want to spend a lot of money on them for just one afternoon. For anyone looking to entertain the kiddos without breaking the bank, there is a playground that is the stuff childhood dreams are made of. Sugar Sand Park in Boca Raton, FL is one of the coolest playgrounds in Florida, filled with fun, exciting things to do all afternoon long.

This 132-acre park is developed by the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District and operated by the City of Boca Raton, further strengthening its commitment to recreation and culture. There are many park features that every visitor can enjoy. One is the Carousel which is open Fri, Sat, and Sun 10 am – 2 pm. It was opened on November 19, 2005, in conjunction with Sugar Sand Park’s 10th anniversary. 30 plus two wheelchair-accessible chariots are available. The carousel is placed on a large brick patio, surrounded by benches and shade trees. It is surmounted by a decorative tent, complete with finial. Multitudes of lights and music enhance the festive scene.

Another feature you can see in the park is their Science playground. The Science Playground is a tri–level hands–on experience that features many interactive components demonstrating a variety of scientific principles for all ages. After 0.7 miles, the footpath deposits you near the back door of the Science Explorium. While the Sand Pine Nature Trail begins at the far end of the parking lot past the Science Playground and the carousel.
