Deerfield Beach is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States, just south of the Palm Beach County line. Following the town’s rapid growth, the Florida East Coast Railroad constructed tracks bisecting Deerfield en route to Miami. Deerfield covers 16.3 square miles (42.1 km2), of which 15.1 square miles (39.1 km2) is land and 1.2 square miles (3.0 km2) is water. 0.3 square miles of Deerfield Beach’s land mass are located on Deerfield Beach Island.
Within the City of Deerfield Beach are the neighborhoods of Century Village along S Military Trail, Pompano Beach Highlands along I-95, and The Cove near Deerfield Beach Island to the east.
Major arteries pass through Deerfield Beach such as I-95 highway parallel with S Military Trail to the west. Florida’s Turnpike bounds the city to the west. S Federal Highway or US Route 1 serves as the commercial thoroughfare. Sawgrass Expressway from the west passing Florida’s Turnpike turns to SW 10th Street entering the city which serves the main west and east road. Hillsboro Boulevard runs west and east and shares an interchange with I-95 within the city and ends at S Ocean Drive at Deerfield Beach Island. W Sample Road bounds the city to the south. I-95 interchanges with Hillsboro Boulevard to the north and W Sample Road to the south.
The City has several points of interest including Deerfield Beach Arboretum at Deer Creek Road and covers 9 hectares; Deerfield Island Park; Quiet Waters Park, a 430-acre (1.7 km2) water park located at S Powerline Road; Florida Renaissance Festival at Powerline Road; and Deerfield Beach Island, also colloquially known as DBI, is an island off the eastern mainland of Boca Raton and Deerfield Beach. Parks and other recreation areas include Mayo Howard Park, City of Deerfield – Ecidar Park, Crystal Heights Park, D1 Training Deerfield Beach, and Infinite Baseball.
Deerfield Beach has plenty of shopping centers mostly along US Route 1 and N Dixie Highway including Target, All Shoes 10.88, Walmart Neighborhood Market, BrandsMart USA, The Home Depot, Sprouts Farmers Market and Deerfield Ace Hardware Inc.
A number of private schools are also located in Deerfield Beach, along with five public schools. The Broward County Public Schools administer the public schools. Amtrak and Tri-Rail serve Deerfield Beach station, as well as Broward County Transit.
