Highland Beach’s only major road is the S Ocean Boulevard which is connected to Delray Beach to the north and Deerfield Beach to the south. Highland Beach spans the sea and overlooks the ocean to the east and Lake Rogers to the west. The city is crowded with condominiums from the north down to the south such as Highland Towers, Ocean Pines Condominium, Monterey House Condominium Association, Seagate of Highland, Coronado At Highland Beach Cnd, Toscana Towers, Toscana Highland Beach, and Regency Highland.

St Lucy Catholic Church along S Ocean Boulevard is the sole place of worship within the city, same as the case with Highland Beach Library as the sole place of education.
